Discourse and Society : ウィキペディア英語版 | Discourse & Society
''Discourse & Society'' is a bimonthly peer-reviewed academic journal that covers the field of discourse analysis, established in 1990 by Teun A. van Dijk. It focuses on explicit theory formation and analysis of the relationships between the structures of text, talk, language use, verbal interaction or communication, on the one hand, and social, political or cultural micro- and macrostructures, and cognitive social representations, on the other. ==Scope== The journal specifically, but not exclusively, covers the area of critical discourse analysis (or critical discourse studies) focusing on the ways discourse plays a role in the reproduction of power abuse in society. Topics that are regularly covered in the journal include racist, nationalist, and sexist discourse, for instance in politics, the mass media, and textbooks. Articles on any topic in discourse studies, and particularly also in conversation analysis, are published in the sister journal, ''Discourse Studies'', and articles focusing on the interdisciplinary field of discourse and communication studies are published in the other sister journal, ''Discourse & Communication''.
